Farhad’s story

Farhad* was the managing director of his own medical supply company in his own country. Due to his political activities and the consequent risk of arrest he was forced to leave his wife and small child and come to the UK.

He applied for asylum and was granted refugee status. He could then apply for his family to come to live with him but faced many financial problems. Miles4Migrants booked a flight for Farhad’s wife and young daughter to come to live with him.

With the current restrictions and requirements he faced many other costs. He arranged for his family to have their Covid-19 tests before they left and get to the departure airport. We arranged for the required Covid testing package for when they arrived and completed the public health paperwork with him. With flights only available to London we also funded travel to his home town.

Farhad was apart from his wife and four year old for two years. If feels ‘just amazing’ to be together again. Now they are together ‘living in the safe and peace’ the family plan to start work, continue their education and help others.
