Noura’s husband was forced to leave Syria as the situation worsened and his life was in danger. He fled to the UK and applied for refugee status. When he was granted permission to remain he applied for his wife to join him. They weren’t able to afford the flights to get her safely to the UK.
When we took on the case there were no flights from Syria because of the danger there. The nearest airport she could reach was in Beirut. Noura needed to travel quickly for her own safety and because her visa held a time restriction. We booked her a direct flight from Beirut and her husband arranged for her to make a long journey over land to get to the airport there. She had only a week to make the journey and did so largely alone.
